Way to Apply Liquid Eyeliner If You Have Lash Extensions

If you are a fan of winged liners, you probably have at least five liquid liners left in your makeup stash. If you also have eyelash extensions or are thinking of getting them, you may be wondering how to stick to their signature look without damaging your floating false eyelashes. To find out, we turned to eyelash expert Skyy Hadley and some of our favorite beauty influencers. Do Your Advice.

Tip 1: Avoid waterproof liners

“The initial rule is not a waterproof liquid eyeliner,” says Hadley. “Smudge-resistant and surprise-resistant eye makeup is usually bad news for eyelash extensions. These include waterproof or waterproof liquid coatings. A liquid liner may seem innocent enough, but the long-wearing formula requires rubbing and rubbing to remove it, which shortens the life of your extensions.”

Instead, she suggests using a powder coating or an oil-free formula. Our oil-free formula of choice is the Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.

Tip 2: Apply gently

“Be careful not to press the eyeliner too hard against the eyelashes, otherwise they may come off and fall out,” says Julia Salvia. Use a formula that glides on easily without pressing too hard, such as the superhero No-Tug Gel Liner.

Tip 3: Do not strike The eye

“If you have the habit of pulling on your eyelid to apply eyeliner, try to break this habit as soon as possible,” says Miranda Mendelson. “Make sure you apply the liner around the extensions and not through them, and keep in mind that you may not need what you are used to, as the extensions already create the Illusion of a darker lash line.”

Tip 4: Replace your eyeliner with eyeshadow

“I recommend using eyeshadow instead of traditional eyeliner when wearing eyelash extensions,” says Madison Murrell. “Moisten the shadow before use so that the product adheres to the lash line longer. A gel or liquid coating is more difficult to remove than an eyeshadow. If you slide back and forth on the lash line to remove them, there will be friction on the eyelash extensions, causing them to fall off.

A simple wipe and the eyeshadow that you used instead of the liner is gone and you have more eyelashes!Heidi Guttenberg agrees: “It’s a great Alternative and when made with a Super pigmented product, it can look like any other eyeliner.”
